There is no magic to feeding chickens. Our feeds are computer formulated by nutritionists to provide optimal nutrition for the particular type and age of chicken being fed. The formulation of feeds, which is similar to commercial feeds, is based on years of research on commercial chickens. Our feed are considered as a complete diet, containing all of the nutrients required by chickens. In most cases, supplemental vitamins are unnecessary if our feeds are fed exclusively.
Broiler poultry feed play a very important role in total production and good health of the birds. Broiler birds are raised for commercial meat production. They convert foods to meat within a very short period of time. They have a good feed to meat converting ratio. So quality feeding is very important for maintaining a profitable broiler poultry farming business.
Layer feeds are formulated for chickens that are laying table eggs (those used for food). Layer feeds contain about 16 percent protein and extra calcium so the chickens will lay eggs with strong shells. Start feeding layer feeds at about 20 weeks of age or when the first egg is laid, whichever occurs first.
Poultry feeds are referred to as "complete" feeds, because they are designed to contain all the protein, energy, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients necessary for proper growth, egg production, and health of the birds. Feeding any other ingredients, mixed with the feed or fed separately, upsets the balance of nutrients in the "complete" feed. Feeding additional grain or supplement with the complete poultry feed is not recommended.Feed chicks a "starter" diet soon after they hatch. Continue feeding the starter feed until they reach 6 or 8 weeks of age
